Just One Star

Just One Star
Can Comfort a Soldier
The Heritage Sampler class I'm teaching has decided to participate in Moda Fabric's Just One Star challenge. The challenge is to make a star block that will be joined with others to make quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Our group decided to make two blocks each - enough to make one quilt.

There's still time to make a block - they are due May 1. It's an easy sawtooth star pattern. I made two in about an hour! Click here for more information. If you choose to participate, let me know. I think it would be fun to see how many blocks we can make. I hope they are overwhelmed with blocks!

Here are my two entries.
Hint: a busy background hides a lot of missing points!

  1. Lovely star blocks! What a wonderful thing to do....

  2. My sister and I each made one. Love our military!

  3. It's going around blogland so much that I am sure they will be overwhelmed !! What a worthy cause.
I have already made two and sent them in. Am going to make at least two more because they are easy and fun!
God bless our military and America!

  4. I've made four and had presented it to my guild in Feb. At the March meeting, I collected 19 blocks to be delivered to Moda and will (hopefully) collect more at the Apr. meeting!! LOVE it!

  5. I'm so glad to hear you all are participating, too! And I agree Sue, they probably will be overwhelmed!
