Guild Talk Tuesday Night

This week has been such a bear! First with this cold that won't settle down and then with crazy work deadlines and the last day of school for the kids! It's a wonder I got them fed and myself showered at all this week! I did manage to have time to do one of my favorite things, though - talk to quilters! I spoke to the Starlight Quilter's Guild in Mission, Kansas.

Here I am with my very first quilt. It's such a hoot to show off. I made it when I was 6 months pregnant with my third child. I had a 2 1/2 year old and a 15 month old at the time. Who knows what I was thinking! And yes, it's a tumbling block! I didn't know that was hard! Funny what you can do when you don't know any better! The best thing about this quilt? My son still uses it and he's almost 17!

Here's my "holders" holding one of my all time favorite quilts - Dinner Bell. The Circuit Rider's Quilt is in the back. I like to drag that one along, even when I'm talking about Modern quilts. It's fun to show all the different aspects of quilting.

The ladies were so nice and welcoming! It really was a pleasure to speak to them! We had a good time talking about design, color, fabric, quilting and applique! I hope they invite me back sometime!
