Traditional Tuesday - Block 60

Modified Four Patch
Block 60 - Modified Four Patch
Does this look familiar? It's the No Name Block from yesterday put into block form! The same rules apply from yesterday - any color, any placement - anything goes!

I haven't worked with my 70s fabrics lately, so I chose a vintage red calico and a repro calico from Barbara Brackman. A solid cream sets them off nicely.
Cutting:
From the cream, cut 2 - 3 1/2" squares
From the red, cut 2 - 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles AND 2 - 2" squares
From the cream calico, cut 2 - 2" squares

Lay out the patches as they will be when the block is done. You can see I got a little turned around when sewing, but it doesn't really matter as long as you are consistent.

Sew the 2 squares together and press to the dark.

Sew the rectangle to the side and press to the dark. Remember to stay consistent with all your units. make 2 - 3 1/2" units.

Lay out the units and sew together like a four-patch block. It will be 6 1/2" when done.
