Block 63 - Traditional Tuesday Block
For the second-to-last block we're commemorating the Traditional Tuesday project with it's own Signature Block! After piecing, you can write anything you want on your block. I chose to put the date and the website on mine - that will drive historians nuts in 100 years when 42quilts.com is no more! I also chose to end it at 2012 even though our last block will be next week - Jan 1, 2013! You can put whatever year you think you'll finish this project in! I chose red and blue for my block with white for the background, but any light will work. |
From the background, cut:
1 - 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" strip
4 - 1 1/2" x 2 3/4" strips
1 - 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" rectangle
1 - 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" rectangle
From the blue, cut:
1 - 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" strip
1 - 1 1/2" x 2 3/4" strip
1 - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangle (optional)
From the red, cut:
1 - 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" strip
1 - 1 1/2" x 2 3/4" strip
Lay out all your cut pieces. |
Sew the 2 background strips to each side of the bottom part of the T. Press to the dark. |
Sew the top part of the T to one side of the pieced unit. For the T on the right side, sew the remaining white strip to the top. |
Happy Holidays Jennifer! Thank you for your inspiration, I look forward to what blocks you have shared each week.
