Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Blog Tour
Welcome blog hoppers! Today is my day to tell you about my block in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks and to give you the chance to win a copy of the magazine.

My block is called Mod Posies. It's such a fun block to make. The inspiration came from a quilt along I hosted a couple of years ago called Modern Monday. I designed a 6 1/2" flower motif to be a cute, mid-century modern-style applique block. To make the full 12" block, I made two of the flowers and added a simple 9-patch as an alternate block.
If this is your first time to my blog, I'd like to tell you a little bit about me. I am a long-time quilter (20 years now - yikes!) and author. I've written 4 quilt books since 2005 and my fifth book will be out in December. Follow my blog to hear more about the big announcement! If you're curious about my books, they are listed on the left side of the blog. I also contribute to quilt magazines and other books.
I have the most amazing day job ever - I am a book editor for Kansas City Star Quilts, publisher of quilting and cross stitch books. I get to work with some of the top designers in the industry! Can you say dream job?!
Check out my Facebook page, 42 Quilts to keep up with all my goings on. There I share tips and hints, funny quilting memes, show and tell and much more. Click like so you don't miss any of the fun!
Now for the giveaway! I won't make you jump through hoops, although I do hope you consider following my blog and clicking like on my Facebook page! But for the giveaway, simply leave a comment telling me what your favorite color combinations are! You can enter until Sunday, Nov. 17 and I'll draw the winner Monday morning. Make sure I can get a hold of you by email if you're the winner through your profile or leave the address in the comment.
Good luck!

I like to look for unusual color combinations and this cheddar and orange combo seemed really pleasing to me - still does! Paired with gray, it looks fresh and modern. I envision this to be used in a row quilt or maybe for a border of a garden-themed quilt. I'm sure there are many more ways it could be used! If you make this block, send me photos - I love show and tell!
